01X mixer and SPDIF IN/OUT
I wonder, what these SPDIF on the 01X is doing. Whats coming out of the SPDIF OUT connector?
Because I am experimenting with a Yamaha Sound projector Beamer, creating Dolby 5.1 sound, which device has an SPDIF INPUT optical and coax. What I am trying to do is to get the sound whats normally going out from the Stereo L/R out or the MONITOR L/R out, coming out from the SPDIF out to the Yamaha Sound projector device. Yes, I know the stereo out and the monitor out are analoge outputs, but inside the 01X must the digital information be present of the song played by my MOTIFES8.
I suppose I have to reroute these ES8 data to the SPDIF output. How do I manage that, please in simple words.

hey jan!
didn't know you were over here too! i'm getting up to speed about all Yamaha geeks are on every forum having anything to do with Yamaha LOL.
anyhow, it's not a big deal to route your stereo bus out to that S/PDIF to connect to your projector.
on your 01X, press [UTILITY] then 2nd rotary knob below display [PATCH] page down five times to 6/8, far left display, be sure [ST-BUS]>D.OUT
of course to get that S/PDIF into the O1X [UTILITY] [PATCH] and set which channels gets the S/PDIF input.
